Could I ask a favor of you guys that have Duracoat specifically on your rifles in their tan shades?

I'm planning on coating my Rem 700 .308, and want to do in a light desert tan sort of color. Kinda like the tan the military paints their Humvees.

The problem I have is that Duracoats websigt does not show differences in color very accuratly.

So if you have tan duracoat on your rifle, yould you post a picture, and what the color was called?

FDE KG Gun Kote on the metal, Polane T (Duracoat) on the Stock. I built this rifle for DesertMonkey here on the hide and the stock was painted by 30calsniper (Todd Jackson @ Manners) they may be able to tell you the stock colors. The colors look true to form on my monitor.

Duracoat desert beige(main color on stock and metal), desert brown and desert mint.

Here is a version I tried out, but I think it came out too light. I had a friend Duracoat this rifle and he kept calling the color desert tan, not sure if that was Duracoat's actual name for this color or not. Made a good base for Krylon though - the SPR grip is Krylon tan.

My SPS is Coyote brown duracoat with Krylon brown accents on Krylon khacki base colored stock.

Well it aint a rifle but the stock is covered with tan Duracoat with some black fleck.

Get the air cure FDE from KG. I know a guy that paints his stocks and bakes them, low temp, 120 degrees 2-3 hours. I wouldnt bake mine at all.

Thanks for the pick guys. Gives me alot of tan options seeing them on the rifles.

Will be duracoating my Rem 700 as soon as I finish machining the muzzel brake... I'm making one thats a scaled down version of the Barret brake.

I'll post pics of the brake as soon as its put together incase anyone else is interested in one. Once I build a jig to hold the hole in the baffels straight to the bore and threads then they should be pretty easy to turn out. I work in a Govt contracted fab shop that lets people work on whatever they like in their off time and weekends.
