F T/R Competition Powder for .284 Winchester?

I'm about to start load workup for my new Surgeon actioned, 30" barrel .284 Winchester. This is my first experience with that round. I'll be using new Norma brass, CCI BR2 primers and topped with Berger's new 190gr 7mm Target Hybrids. From what I've been told, H4350, H4831SC and RL17 all get good marks, and I have all 3 on hand. I'm interested to hear from you .284 Win guys, starting from scratch, which one would you try first? Thanks.

I use H4350. Try all three. See what works best.

Using the 190, I would go with the 4831sc first. I use 4350 with the 180 hybrid, but had to use 4831 a couple years ago when there was no 4350 to be found. What's making you decide on the 190 grain in stead of the 180?

Use H4350 with Berger 180 & 184's. I have never had much luck with H4831 but several of the folks I shoot with use H4831 with good results.

You didnt mention barrel twist, but don't discount the 180BHs.

Highpower shooters have been running Berger 180 hybrids from 1:9 and 1:8.5 for years with 51-52gr H4350. It's a plug and play combo with 210s.

Sorry, no idea on the 190s. The 284Win is really maxed out with the big 180s IMO. 2800fps-2830 is a sweet spot. Not sure where the node for 190s will fall. I switched to 6mms due to the astronomical cost of bullets.

Spoke with the Berger guys at the SWN's and they recommended using H4831SC with the 190's.

play with some reloader 26. good accuracy and great speed for me in limited testing. but.... I am not a F open competitor.
