Any of you guys into precision shooting with pistols? If so, what type of sights do you recommend? What do you guys think of the factory adjustable Glock sights that come stock? I, myself, don't care for them all that much but then again maybe its the operator... I'll be shooting a Glock 17L and want to have the gear that allows me to shrink my groups as much as possible given I do my part... Any suggestions?

Re: Precision Pistol Sights

I have Dawson iron rear and green optic front on my USPSA G35. I have always had good luck centering my rear sight, and being POA = POI. If it needs tweaking, <tap tap tap> on sight in direction needed, and voila, I'm set.

I understand adjustable sights, but prefer to not have them on pistols(at least for my needs.) I'm sure bulls-eye shooters would disagree with me, but they also have different end-goals. Neither is better, just the right tool for the specific job.

Another thing to consider is how much of your rear sight notch do you want to be filled by the front sight post? Do you want it filled? Lots of "light?" just take into account you have a longer slide, and that rear notches can vary in size.

Good thing is, you have many choices since you have a Glock.

Best of luck!

The sights that come on the M&P Pro 5 inch model are awesome. Rear sight blacked out and fiber optic on front. I'm not sure if its smaller than typical fiber optic, but I shoot that gun lights out.
