Guys i'm looking at getting into tactical matches in my area and i'm looking for training drills and advice to get me a little more prepared. These are some of the drills i've been working on so far:

1) UKD / ranging with scope out to 600yds
2) Barricade shooting out to 200yds (so far)
3) fudamentals / slow fire out to 600yds
4) 0-400yd holdover practice with reticle
5) Rapid fire out to 500yds
6) Sling fire (Still need a sling)

Right now I have access to one public range with 3,4,5, & 1000yd lines and some private property where I can set up targets at varying distances from 0-600yds. I am basically looking for any drills or variations to the drills i've posted to prepare me for anything I might encounter at a tactical match. Any and all advice will be appriciated.

I'd say move away from the range. Good practice from what you have listed can be accomplished by varmint hunting. PDs would be almost perfect.

Right out of the USAMU LE Counter Sniper Guide.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The lives of his fellow officers and that of the general public are at stake. Time is extremely critical, therefore, he can expect to be required to make shots at varying angles, and distances on a split second's notice. The hunting of varmints such as woodchucks and crows provides outstanding training because the techniques involved are almost identical</div></div>

When you think about this, it makes since. You have varying angles, unknown distances, small targets, varying winds and quick shots.

My favorite PD hunting spot allows me to set up on a little hill giving me a 270 degree arc with PDs beyond what the eye can see. Its shooting up hill, down hill, at varying angles of wind. Small fast targets. You can work your way across that arc as the critters get skidish then go back and start all over.

I use the classic HP sling positions, sometimes laying my supporting forarm across my pack for added support. Personnal I could never get the hang of using a bipod. With practice its quite fast. I also use a 1907 type sling with my hunting rifles.

You training and practice is only limited by you imagination.

Looks like a good start. Keep doing what you are doing and you should be fine. I only have access to a 400 yard range and it's more about the practice and getting the fundamentals down than the range you have.

Do some dot drills, KYLs and stay heavy in positional stuff. Go read old match reports and look at the courses of fire and see what you might encounter.
