Developed and tested over the last two years, A-D Precision has now started production of the Precision Shooting Platform (PSP).

Pictured above is the PSP Ultra model, which clamps directly to a tripod via 1.5" dovetail (Acra Swiss / RRS compatible) clamp. The PSP Ultra has a new disconnect plate or dovetail rail that has a unique combination of features that we feel are a first for the shooting industry. The rail (available in the future as an individual item) incorporates Flush-cup/QD mounting, a slot for webbing, lanyards, cordage, or straps. The fastener hole spacing is M-Lok compatible, and the center has a hole threaded 3/8-16 to allow direct attachment to tripod posts. Pictured is a Velcro Strap attached to the plate (Available from Bison Tactical), and a 1/4-20 reduction insert to allow the attachment of other accessories.

The PSP is manufactured using a proprietary ultralight aerospace composite material that is stronger than aluminium, and only weighs a fraction of an ounce more than carbon fiber. The plate material we use in our product is less than 1/8" thick, yet very strong and rigid. The surface has special anti-glare properties that drastically reduces the reflection from sun, moon, or artificial light. The camoflage pattern visible is a special and random fabric weave imbedded in the plate that appears to be digital camoflage. Because of the smooth surface of the plate, we are offering a proprietary anti-slip material that is similar to Flat Dark Earth in color, but with a slight tint of green added.

With input from competitive shooters, hunters, military, and law enforcement professionals, our first priority was to make a product that was as light as possible, while maintaining the strength and durability of heavier materials. The PSP Ultra weighs only 9.5-oz with the non-slip material applied. Size is 7" x 9" x 0.5"

The PSP Pro uses a carbon fiber tube which allows the Hog Saddle to clamp on to the platform. A PSP Pro Plus model will be available with the 1.5" Dovetail (Acra Swiss / RRS compatible) rail attached to allow those with leveling head or ball head clamps that utilize a knob for tightening, and allowing enough clearance for your fingers and hand to access the knob.

The Ultra model meets the needs of Hunters and Military professionals with a very light platform, and low profile in the PSP. Designed to clamp directly to a leveling head or ball head with lever clamp.

Several models of the PSP will be on hand for evaluation at various matches throughout the Country. In the future, we plan on donating several of these to match prize tables.

We have some other products in the works, and anticipate the release of those products soon.

The original concept of the product was intended as a stable platform for shooting at elevated positions in field conditions, where the terrain or vegetation is not condusive to shooting from the prone position.

Utilizing a bag between the PSP and rifle provides stability, and allows the bag to dampen recoil, human movement, and wind induced oscillations. Plus target acquisition and engagement is much quicker than direct attachment to a tripod clamp, or ball head.

So you mount this in your tripod/hog-saddle then set your bag on it?

Correct. The original platform was designed around the Weibad Tac Pad, with the elastic loops holding it on the platform. That's why we chose the 7" x 9" size. Coincidentally, many other bags are that size like those made by @Precision Underground, Traust, @NoNameTactical, and easily accommodates specialty bags like the Bison Tactical Tactical Udder, or the Game Changer.

We have a projected MSRP of $160 to $180 price range for the Ultra and Pro. The Pro+ will be higher because of the added features.

We were hoping to introduce the product at a lower price point, but material costs dictate the higher price, along with some labor intensive operations to create the product. The plate itself is very tough, and has to be cut with a diamond tile saw or waterjet. Corners have to be ground and filed. The anti-slip material has to be hand fitted, trimmed, and the adhesive used is heat activated, so we go over each plate with a heat gun.
