I just wanted to post my opinion on something. Although, I hear that most people love the XR reticle on their Premier Heritage 5x25, I've never been happy with it. The XR reticle was way too fine (thin) for my taste. Everything else about the scope was great, but that thin reticle bugged me.
So, I recently sent my scope back in to Premier and had them change the reticle from the XR to the Gen 2 Mil-Dot. I must say I love the new reticle. In my opinion it is the perfect size reticle for a 5x25 FFP scope. If I have this right it is 3X thicker than the XR reticle. Also, to me it is not as busy as the XR reticle either, and is easier to mil with.
Just wanted to let y'all know my experience in case anyone else was debating returning their scope and having the reticle changed, or just purchasing a 5x25 new with the now available Gen 2 Mil-Dot reticle. It took 9 days from the day I sent my scope in to have the reticle changed and have the scope back in my hands. They also upgraded the clickers and put beefier lever-locks for zeroing on the scope while they had it. I even got a courtesy call from Paul on about day 6 telling me my scope was in the mail back to me and apologizing it took so long! Needless to say I am very happy with Premiers customer service and them getting my scope back to me so quickly.
