Rifle Scopes Premier Heritage 3-15x50... need some help!

Hi all. I just received a Premier Heritage 3-15x50mm tactical scope. It came with no instruction manual, but I have been looking all over the internet for help but to my dismay have come across nothing. I downloaded the manual on Premier's website and it did very little to explain my issue. Here is my question:

After I have followed the instructions according to the manual the scope will not let me adjust the elevation knob down. So after I engage the lever lock how do I do my adjustments? This is hard for a first time Heritage owner with no instructions. Any help is appreciated. you can post it here or PM me. a phone call might be easier?
