I'm watching the presser Pres.Trump is giving that started about 1hr ago. He's mentioned protecting 2A and related things three times already. He's also commenting on how KH wants to confiscate guns, etc.

Very encouraging if it holds out!

Like what he said, but remember, he signed the bump stock ban. So although he is monumentally better than the laughing stock, he isn't 100% 2A by his voting record.
Mark Smith (USSC Attorney) said that he believes Trump signed the BSB to prevent congress from re-defining the definition of a machine gun which would likely have encompassed ALL semi auto rifles.

How is Trump any different from Jeb or any other neocon GOP shill at this point ?

Where’s the mass deportation, where’s the wall, where’s the rebirth of American manufacturing?

No it’s all about muh Israel, muh Jews, muh tax cuts, muh stapling green card to diplomas

Very low energy presser … this isn’t the same guy who won in 2016

Sure … that’s all 6D chess … just like taking the guns first and due process later

My point was simply, he did in fact sign the bump stock ban. Doesn't matter what Mark Smith believes. Trump says he'll protect 2A rights. OK, good. But he is not 100% 2A and none of us should be naive enough to believe he will be next term. And I wouldn't trust any politician to be 100% 2A all day every day.

Actually that was a wise thing to do. Think strategy, not tactics. The long game. It looked bad at the time, but worked to our advantage. At that time there was serious discussion in Congress about new laws addressing "rate of fire". Rate of fire would determine almost machine gun status and regulation. When the bump stock ban was put in place the rate of fire discussion died on the vine..... Thank God. It took time but eventually the SCOTUS ruled that bump stocks are gun accessories only.... That SCOTUS ruling is now being used for other 2A BS.... Like the recent ruling that forced reset triggers are NOT machine guns. Pistol braces also come to mind. They are killing the ATF now on Administrative Procedures Act (APA) over reach. That's their downfall and Achilles heel.
