ROE's have been basically thrown away. Great day for the sniper community. All you have to do is see a bad guy carrying a AK47 or better, you just shoot him, PERIOD! Look for many new records for kills and watch it climb to unheard of numbers. Will have quite an effect on morale for both sides and it will add up. This would be a good time to supply a lot more ,338 Lapuas and a few more Big Bores. If I was not old and retired, I would sign up tomorrow if guaranteed to be a sniper in that theatre.

First you have to ask your self why are there rules in WAR in the first place? They can play war all they want but in real war there are not rules. Those who place restrictions ie ROE on combat troops in a WAR ZONE have either never been a pack mule in a shit hole or have a vested interest in prolonging it. The Just following orders bullshit is a response from robots or job scared lackeys.

The thing I take away from that portion of the speech that I actually saw is the emphasis on engaging India as a key player in the Afghanistan/Pakistan Clusterf*ck. They are a lot closer to the problem and have interests which ply directly to the evil that is harbored in the region. They call those mountains The Hindu Kush for a reason.

I expect that Hindi will rise to the top on the priority language instruction list for US Service personnel.

Then, there's China. Sino-Indian relations are still dominated by trade imbalance and border skirmishes. China looks to dominate the South China Sea on a permanent basis, and having India as our ally might put this matter in a better light.

Mostly, though, I am encouraged by the declaration to end nation building, and the commitment to just get centered with the program of killing terrorists.

I look eagerly forward to reading what Veer has to say about this new American-Indian Military engagement.
