Since the majority of the replies had nothing to offer other than hostility and antagonism I decided to edit the post since a simple answer was impossible.

Nothing is a "Good Price" when buying out the door

Seems to be the going price on these. Its better than the Larue for your money.

Re: Price on 18 LWRC REPR

$3550 is about as good as it gets for "online" pricing and I have seen them "locally" for as much as $3800.

Depending on how much you'll pay for S&H and with your local FFL for the "transfer"...you may be able to beat your $3650 price by $40-50.

Well then why the hell are you asking if it is a good price if you've already made a deal to get the rifle at that price point??!! Buyer's remorse set in already??!!

Why are you asking if it's a good deal, AFTER you already told them to get it. Regardless of whether you got ripped off or not, it's a little too late to be wondering about it now...isn't it?

I've seen them cheaper on Gunbroker as well, NIB with an 18" barrel. In fact, the average price is $3200-$3300.

Congrats! You overpaid!

Re: Price on 18 LWRC REPR

A buddy of mine paid 4k something for his when it first came out, which I thought was hilarious. 3 1/2 + fees sounds about ballpark to me.

Re: Price on 18 LWRC REPR

Please don't be so hard on me I only told them to get it in. I have not paid for it yet but I just want to make sure that it is a fair price. I would rather deal with a local dealer face to face than make a purchase on the internet. At least when I am able to open the box and view the gun if there is something wrong it will be taken care of then. I would rather pay the local dealer more and build a relationship than risk some of the horror stories that I have heard about.

Telling your dealer to "get it in" would mean, to the dealer, that you're going to buy it. REPRs ain't cheap and small stores don't have money to throw around buying one-offs and special orders.

Midwest, He is not a small dealer, and I am willing to pay his return shipping costs if I don't take the gun and he can't sell it in a reasonable amount of time.

Yeah, well, good luck with <span style="font-style: italic">THAT</span> idea. You can pretty much expect that if you pull a stunt like <span style="font-style: italic">that</span>, don't be surprised if the dealer tells you to get bent and refuses to do business with you again.

We're not talking about a $25 piece of hardware that can sit on the shelf. We're talking about a $3600 rifle and regardless of what <span style="font-style: italic">"good ole boys"</span> they might seem to be, jerk them around over $3600 and they're gonna be ready to <span style="font-style: italic">whip your ass</span>.

I understand and I try to shop locally as much as I can too (although it is a damn tall order most of the time as my local folks don't routinely deal in the rifles/handguns/equipment I use).

The point you are missing is multifaceted and you don't seem to get it.

1) do you study for a test after you take it? do you buy a car and then research pricing or quality/recalls/resale value/etc.? If so, you are doing a fine job keeping up your standards by researching prices on a rifle you have already committed to buy for a price you have no idea whether its reasonable or not!!

2) IF YOU HAVE ALREADY ASKED YOUR DEALER "TO GET IT IN"...YOU GAVE YOUR WORD TO BUY IT unless you have worked out some other arrangement up front before the rifle gets ordered. Dealer's don't...out of the goodness of their hearts...usually special order $3k+ items for customers who don't intend to buy or are otherwise kicking tires. By asking him to get it for you, you have given your word to purchase it from him regardless of what you may "think" is reasonable or "fair" to the dealer when you get cold feet or find a better price down road.

3) Trying to get a back door price check for a rifle you have agreed to purchase at $3650 seems even more questionable now based on all this. So were are admittedly fishing for either: a) confirmation you got a "good deal" or b) looking to find a better price to save some money and ultimately tell the dealer that ordered in a $3k+ rifle for you to suck it 'cause you found a better deal. Nice!

This. That is pretty shitty that you would tell somebody to get you something and then even consider not taking it after the fact. Not kewl.

Re: Price on 18 LWRC REPR

KWAK, as a FFL dealer it is assholes like you that makes dealers hesitate to special order high end platforms without requiring significant deposit. Be a freakin man about it ! If you tell someone to order you one then MAN-UP and pay the shop! It's not their fault you didn't do your homework before going off on a whim and wasting the shops money.Hell if you are going to be like that just keep playing with your HI-Points.
