This is an all Harrington and Richardson Arms Company 1954 M1 Garand service rifle built with HRA parts on a CMP Receiver with a new match barrel. Specifically assembled to meet rules allowing it to be used in John C. Garand matches. Assembled by a former Marine Corps Shooting Team and Camp Perry National Match armorer with over 20 years’ experience
ACTION: Carefully hand fitted for a very snug fit to stock without the use of epoxy bedding or shims, GAS CYLINDER is modified for clearance and gauged for wear inside to be in excellent condition. The TWO STAGE TRIGGER has been polished and thoroughly tuned to NM standards and breaks like a glass rod at just over 4.5 lbs. SIGHTS: Unmodified USGI spec front and sights. RECEIVER: 1st block H&R Arms Co M1 Garand #5,625,xxx possibly around August or mid-year 1954 according to the receiver drawing number although records at the time were not exact. Excellent condition USGI receiver, NOT a reweld, mint sight serrations, reparkerized. Original CMP Receiver with certificate of authenticity. BARREL: New Criterion .30-06 GI contour match barrel properly chambered, head spaced and indexed. A true match grade performer. 1-10" twist, four groove. TRIGGER HOUSING: HRA with HRA parts and early correct stamped trigger guard. BOLT: Like New HRA. OP ROD: HRA, in excellent condition, checked to be within factory specs. GAS CYLINDER: Gauged for wear inside, great condition, fitted with correct HRA gas plug and post war gas cylinder lock with hump. STOCK AND HANDGUARDS: New Boyd's XX fancy grade American Walnut, this is premium dark Black Walnut with NO STAIN, carefully hand fitted to action. Finished in multiple coats hand rubbed boiled linseed oil. PARTS: Carefully selected and fitted new or like new USGI and equivalent parts. Freshly reparkerized. All SS parts have been blackened. All new springs.
INCLUDED WITH THE RIFLE: A bunch of Enbloc clips (20 or so) that I’ll include along with a new green M1 Garand Sling. Additionally – M3A1 Combo Tool, Gas Cylinder Wrench and Gas Plug Tool.
