i've never heard PA talk about their glass.

is the Slx 4-14 glass the same as the Slx 3-18?
is the Slx glass the same as the Glx?
i am assuming the Plx is definitely different because it is made in japan.

anybody in the know?

It's scaled much like other optics companies in the industry.

The 3-18 has better glass than the 4-14. The GLx scopes have better glass than that (pretty solid for their price range). Then PLx is made by LOW, so it's in that premium tier.

The 4-14x44 scopes are made in China, Glx are made in the Philippines i belove and the platinum are From LOW Japan. Each scope has a different glass prescription with the platinum being the best they offer.

IIRC, not all the Glx stuff is made in the Phillipines. In particular, I believe the 2x is made in China (albeit it's a pretty great optic in spite of that).

I've got the 1-6X ACSS in QD rings on my CZ527 in 7.62X39 and love the combo. I was expecting relative garbage given the price, but it's definitely a value. Great turrets, BDC works, bright illumination, and surprising clarity for less than 200 bux.

I'd love to take a gander through the Platinum series 6-30. Any glass comparisons to Athlon Ares (BTR or ETR) or Vortex PST II?

should at least be close to the cronus btr, being made in the same factory.

i'm interested in the 3-18x50 Slx, i feel the Glx is priced too close to japanese made scopes by other brands.

The riflescopes are Philippine. The prism is Chinese-made, but the quality is there, for sure.
The 2x is magnificent for the money they're charging. Crazy good eyebox and what seemed to be pretty good glass. I want a version with a circle dot reticle using a fiber optic battery-powered dot... I could think of a lot of oddball rifles it would work well on.

I have the new 1-8 slx ffp it’s pretty good glass. I’m used to Athlon Cronus glass on my bolt gun, so obviously it’s a considerable step down. I chose the 1-8 for the raptor reticle.

Their GLX 2.5-10 and 4-16 are pretty decent for the money...if you can find them...they took it off market due to a trademark violation.

Their HUD reticles are too busy...in my opinion...

i thought they took it off because they misspelled Philippines (they spelled it as Phillipines)

which i found very weird. why would the Filipinos misspell their own country (i mean not see it and not report it)

I have several of the 4x14x44 & 3x18x50 ( maybe 6 in total) and all have been excellent for the money ( not one failure or complaint). Many here don't like them, but none have ever posted a range report with legitimate actual findings or complaints - they just say they are cheap / crap etc. I have them on some of my M14's (that are tough on scopes) on .308 & 6.5 Creedmoor bolt rifles and one on my classic model 70 300 Win Mag. I don't like that some models are manufactured in China and most I am buying now are not made in China. Many scope manufactures have offshore operations for production and you have to keep current on what company is doing as things change.

I don't like to spend unnecessary money if my requirements can be met with an excellent value scope. I understand some requirements may require another scope option which is fine. The glass is excellent on all of my PA scopes and good or better than scopes costing 2-3 times more. I have nothing bad to say about the PA scopes for certain applications for sure.
