I'm sure this has been done many times. Anyone know where primers can be found? Fed 210m. Saw some CCIs but have never used those. If you have a secret supplier and don't want to talk, I understand.

Thanks

Re: Primers Anyone?

I hate to say it but I'm seeing them everywhere around here, so much that I don't even bother to buy them.

(powders too, I just picked up another 8 Lbs of Varget and some more 4064..)

Re: Primers Anyone?

Buy what ever you can
A while back I bought 12 1 pounders of Varget for $19.60 each with hazmat etc total was 21.00 each delivered. I did not think it was too bad them the post came shit I paid way to much "according to them"
just went to Gander mountain and Bass Pro shops $27.99 a pound than add 8% sales tax

Buy it when you see it

Re: Primers Anyone?

Went by the local (Chattanooga, TN) Sportsman's Warehouse today. They had Three boxes of CCI BR LR primers $47.99/1000 and three 8# jugs of Varget $179.99 each. First time I have seen any there in a long time. Just a little too pricey for me. It seems a good sign that they have any at all. I'm hoping that things are improving.

Re: Primers Anyone?

Emailed Federal and they said the demand has increased and that they were working on it. I'll try to copy and paste thier response from my personal email address. Hard to believe that bullets can be found but primers can't. Oh well. I had to vent to them.

Shot in the Dark:

You might be able to make some money selling components to us. Gonna start looking for stores in Co. online.

Re: Primers Anyone?

Thats the way I see it too. Around here vendors are starting to carry more stock. Ive got more primers than I probably need at this point. If you have a GPS and do any traveling at all I would play with the search feature. You maybe suprised what pops up. I found a little place in Kentucky one time that looked like a hardware store from the front but they actually sold reloading components.

Re: Primers Anyone?

I really dont see any diference between CCI's BR2's and 210M's in my loads. If you can get the BR2's right, you might go that route, I would and do. Might work different for you though, just letting you know how they do for me. Good luck.

okie

Re: Primers Anyone?

Check out MidSouth Shooters supply periodically. The October American Rifleman wrote a nice Bio of the company president and the corporate culture there. I find that what was written is true: they have not jacked their prices as most others have done.

Last week I posted that both BR2s and Varget (1 Lb only was in stock) for $41.35/1000 and 21.00/lb respectively. The hazmat fees have gone up to $25.00 universally so I don't blame anyone for that. And shipping is modest.

In any case it would appear that MidSouth is a standup outfit.

Re: Primers Anyone?

This is the answer I got from Federal. I thanked her. I know its not her fault but they aren't keeping up with demand. I appreciate everyone's help and will keep searching for primers. Any more suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

We've seen unprecedented demand for ammunition and primers over the past
several years. All of our major trading partners all over the world have
orders on the books and we will be filling orders as product becomes
available. Production and Shipping are currently working 24/7 to try
and keep up with the demand. I've cc'd your local Rep. Ref. GM210M
Is currently heavily backordered and we are shipping them. Thanks for
your support

I'm in Natchez. Have family in Ridgely. Don't get up that way very much but might have to send them to the gun shop to find primers.

Re: Primers Anyone?

Bought the last box of CCI BR2s Mid South had. Not gonna say what I paid for them. Too embarassed but at least I can keep shooting.

Thanks for everyones help.

Re: Primers Anyone?

Damn LARMIKE, bet they don't have any now. Hope you put them to good use over there. GET SOME for me! Good luck and thank you for your service.

Re: Primers Anyone?

I bought a ton of stuff during the worst of the shortages and didn't pay any real premiums.

Two words: Powder valley I use BR2's interchangibly with 210M's, and the CCi's were fairly easy to get.

Re: Primers Anyone?

Powder Valley has nothing and won't for a while. Talked them before I orded from Mid South.

JML, since you don't reload I'll be happy to take those primers you have. I'm sure they are cluttering up your gun room.

gun room no, but they're doing a hell of a job to the kitchen table... I'm hoping to have some sort of reloading set up in the next couple months. WM is killing me.

They are out but will keep an eye on them. Thanks.

JML:

Those primers are going to go bad in a couple of months, you better send them to me.

My guy had 40+ cartons of FGMM 210Ms for $40 plus tax, three weeks back.

He's not going to ship them, so that won't help you.

They're out there if you spend some time looking on a daily basis.
