I am out of Primers for my hunting rifle. Looking around I could not find any avaulable other than Rem 9 1/2. I was using Federal, until they got lost in my recent move, and was pleased with my the load I had developed. Will there be a difference in the performance using Remington 9 1/2?

One way to find out. Load some up and shoot them

Re: Primers for 300 win mag

I've been using Rem 9 1/2 since day one for my large rifles, they go bang everytime. Haven't compared em to Federal 210's, are your current loads maxed out? If not I wouldn't stress it. If your loads are maxed out I would probably back off a few grains or 10% and work em back up.

Re: Primers for 300 win mag

Hey, Thanks for the feed back. Very cool link. As it turns out I picked up a .338 LM on the way home from the range today. Is it ok to use the 9.5 rem primers while working up a load for this. The only reason I ask is because of the Max load comments above. I am no salty pro, but I assume I will be generating more pressure in the .338LM. I know what they say about ass u me. I didnt just do that did I?

Re: Primers for 300 win mag

They say Magnum Rifle on the box. My bad. they are 9.5M (my rookie ass didnt notice the M) All the other manufactures say Large Magnum Rifle Primers. These dont have large written on them. I know that is the o.d. of the primer but I just want to make sure.
