I'd like to find someone who offers private training near (a couple hour drive or so) the DFW metroplex.

I've done some searches and came across classes, but not many mentions of 1-on-1 instruction. I contacted Justin at Fouled Bore and I'm sure he offers awesome training, but it's a little more than I want to spend at the moment. I'm also reaching out to Sean at Vapor Trail.

But I'd like to see if anyone had any other specific suggestions for instructors in my area. I'm not looking for anything advanced, just the basic fundamentals at this point. Getting my rifle and scope fitted to me, how to use a rear bag without fidgeting with it from shot to shot, and I've somehow developed a flinch since the last time I shot a rifle. I've had some serious spinal surgery this year, and I'm sure that has something to do with it from a mental standpoint. But generally, my fundamentals with a rifle suck, and I'd like to remedy the situation.

Thanks

Highly Highly highly reccomend Dallas Sniper Training. The instructors’ name is Remington. He was a former Army Sniper. He can teach you how to crawl around in the brush if you really want to…

But he will take you from 0 to 100 on long range shooting in a single day.

My first day out I shot my 308 out to 1070 yards at ETTS.

Prior to that I had never hit a target past 300 yards.

Highly recommend @Hogstooth , we had some great classes and shooting sessions when he was back in Virginia and I have no doubt he's still one of the best around

What are you trying to train for specifically? I've done different types and classes based on my end goals.

For straight up fundamentals of shooting I've taken classes with Eric Dorenbush of Green Eye Tactical. It was days of grouping and anlaysis and working Natural Point of Aim with solid grouping feedback and data collection. By far the most significant improvement of actual shooting execution I've experienced. Eric's in DFW and does private classes regularly.

I did the JTAC course up in Oklahoma for match and PRS understanding, especially getting comfortable with wind calls. Great class and a ton of one on one as well.

I've done Accuracy 1st for learning to apply Kestrel and setup while shooting long range. Great use of combining one specific piece of kit to help with shooting.

Rhett at Fossile Pointe is 1 hour from Dallas. I’ve had time to observe him with new and experienced shooters and came away impressed. He will take the time to diagnose shooter and rifle issues. He has impressive professional qualifications if you ask him. He is humble.

Adam at NETT has a killer range and they do training there. It’s 30 mins from Dallas, and goes out to 1 mile.
