Hey Guys, I just ordered a FM 4-14x50 that is mil mil and was very excited about it! Well, i got it mounted up in some leupold Mk4 rings and then started playing with it... well, It looks clear and the clicks are nice and audible... but theres a problem. When you turn it all the way up to 14x right when you get to the end... like while you are turning from 8 then 9 10 11 12 13 and then hit 14, well right when you hit 14 and it stops the reticle inside the scope actually torques or twists inside the scope. Its weird. I can actually even kind of feel it twist and a slight rubbing or knocking noise like the glass is twisting inside the housing or something. Anyways, I just wanted to share my woes with yall and see if anyone else has had this problem. I just messaged rw snyder and asked for a refund. Im just kind of scared of them now. I dont want another one. but now my problem is that I have no idea what to get. I didnt really want to spend more than 800 bucks on a scope and I saved money going with the falcon and now im in the same position as i was before. I dont know what to get.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

I just discovered the same problem with my 5-25x. I'm checking on my options with the dealer.

If you're ready to throw in the towel on the Falcon, your next step up in price would be the upcoming Vortex Viper PST line of tactical scopes. You can get everything you need for around $800, but unfortunately they aren't due out until May of this year.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

The Bushnell 6-24x50 FFP is available from a few vendors, and a bit cheaper than the Vortex.

I had a non-ffp version of the 6-24x50 and loved it. I only sold it to upgrade to a Nightforce.

Assuming that Bushnell didn't fuck anything up, the glass is very good and the knobs are excellent.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

I posted this earlier today. I read a review of the new Bushnell FFP mil/mil 6-24x that said they only have 45MOA adjustment in eleveation. So, take that into account. I think the 3-12x has more adjustment.

I would verify it before trusting a blog. If true, it is even less than the previous version which had 50 MOA. Considering in the press release Bushnell specifically cites elevation travel as an area of thought when designing the scope, I would want to verify with them first before making judgments based on that. I'm not saying it's not true, but I would verify it for sure.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

I have a Menace 4.5-14 X 44mm. My beef with it is the magnification ring. It's very tight. Not easy to turn. Haven't noticed the reticle issue you're having.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

I recently took delivery of a Menace 4-14 from Robert.\
I haven't had a chance to get to the range, but the glass looks good and I have not had the issue you have had. I recommend asking Robert to check a scope in his stock for the same issue, if it does not have a problem, swap it out.
The Falcons have been having a few issues lately, but I would not say it is indicative of major problem at the manuacturing level (yet). We'll see how falcon responds.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

My first falcon had a canted reticle. I sent it back to RWS and they promptly sent me a new one. Haven't had any problems since but only have about 200 rounds of 7-08 on it.

Re: Problem with Falcon Menace

after a lot of thought, I am just going to have robert replace the scope. I cant think of anything else in the same boat as the falcon. I almost ordered the trs1 from swfa, but it was back ordered. hopefully this next one will work out for me.
