I mounted a 1" Leupold 3.5-10x40 with target knobs in a Larue SPR-S and put it on a Larue 16" stealth upper. Upper has a M4-96D suppressor. Tried to zero it today. Fired about 10 rounds of XM193 at 100 yards. Group was about 4-5" up and left. Put the correction in the scope. Switched to 68 grain BHA Match. Now the gun wouldn't even hit paper. Aimed at my 300 yard gong and fired. Gun was hitting about 10 feet low. Put in all the elevation I could and gun was still 6-8 feet low at 300.

I'm assuming the problem is in the scope. I've used the above combo with a 3.5-10x40 30mm tactical and a Nightforce 2.5-10x32 with no problems.

    Any ideas?

The more I shoot this combo, the more I like my POF and Nightforce. Larue and Leupold are overrated IMO. My pre-1994 bushmaster with at least 10,000 rounds through it is more accurate than my larue.

Oh yeah, forgot to add, I bought 3 of these 1" leupolds from a member here. I think they were used on police department guns. I would figure that they would have noticed any problems. I mounted another one of these scopes on a 10/22 and almost couldn't get it zeroed at 50 yards. I thought it was becuase of the stupid 10/22 design, but maybe it is the scope.

Since the scope is used have you thought about a trip back to the factory? If there is a problem with the scope they'll find it and may be a warranty issue. Have you tried the others? Same issue?

Thinking about sending it back. My other scopes are on .22s. Both have been good/repeatable. Just takes all of the elevation to zero them at 50 yards.

back to Leupold they should go...they do a good job at rebuilds. I have sent numerous scopes to them and gottem them back better then when they left.
