Please don’t take this as a bashing of MPA, the fine rifles from GAP are just as expensive Both the MPA and the GPA are Really Nice Rifles. I own two and consider them to be the finest rilles I have ever owned including a true custom hunting rifle and an entire bevy of custom XP-100’s. But

Production

Lets face Gentleman, (and Ladies) production is Total JOKE. 3K for the rifle, 2.5K for the scope, at least another thousand for accessories. After tax and shipping and everything else, just about $7000.00. It’s so bad, MPA does not even really promote their custom rifles, since, the “production” rifles offer everything that the custom rifles offer except for a fancy cerekote. (Which for a few extra bucks, you can have). No question, it’s a nice rifle. Available in Matrix, Vanquish or ESR chassis. its a very, very nice rifle.

Solution….Forget Production. Go, One Design. Most popular true production rifle is the Ruger Precision Rifle. Not their custom shop model, just the plain old as you get it from the factory RPR. Choose a caliber. I would bet today’s most popular is the 6.5 Creedmoor. Offer an option of the .308, and that’s it. You can choose one of three models of scopes, all of which must cost less than $1500.00, add a Harris or Magpul bipod. That’s that. Nothing more, nothing changed, And nothing can be added at a later date. (Either by rules or by owner., however, the standard weight and length barrels can be replaced by Ruger as needed).

And especially not as expensive as this. (I really like all of my MPA’s, so, please don’t feel I am picking on them. )

Yeah, this has been beaten to death in the “production is a joke” thread. 🤣 Production is not for newbs, regardless of what the PRS may have written. It’s more like “open light.” Max $$ defines the minimum $$ for entry. But, it sells guns for the manufacturers, who lobby for the $$ limits, and the incremental increases in those limits.

The point of PRS is to make money for the PRS. In this case, sponsor money…

The international rules are fucking retarded and more so because of other countries lack of gun rights and options. Maybe if they fought for their freedoms and stopped sucking socialist dicks they could own cooler shit.

Unless you shoot and compete in production class than your opinion on it is pretty much worthless. It's nothing but an advertisement for manufactures. A guy like Matt Alwine will still kick the shit out of anyone in that division no matter what the name of the side of the gun is.

When production class is a an ATX with a TT on top the reres crying about production rifle cost will really have something to bitch about. That's what will happen if international rules take over.

Don't like it start your own league with whatever contrived rules YOU think should exist.

Anything else you can say now? That piques my curiosity.
Heard 13.5 pounds and 6.5 Creedmoor. I could do that but spotting shots isn’t gonna happen very easily. Maybe have a cannon sized muzzle brake. Actually, a better scope on Brenda’s RPR (second picture) and it’s ready to go at 12 pounds 3 ounces.
