Hello, my name is Jon Weiler and I am the owner of Professional Marksmen Inc. Great job on the site and to everyone who takes part in the discussions here. There is a lot of practical, productive knowledge on the Sniper's Hide. I'm looking forward to being part of the discussions here.

We’d like to welcome you to take a look at your summer schedules and see if you can join us for 2 or 3 days of practical training at the beautiful NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM. Our <span style="font-weight: bold">Off the Reservation Courses</span> are destined to be an experience that you will not likely forget. We are going to take you off the flat range and put you in an environment that both fun and challenging. Just because we are off the range doesn’t mean that we sacrifice our instructional methods. We create a dynamic training environment that will never be the same twice. <span style="font-weight: bold">Off the Reservation</span> is a unique blend of outdoorsmanship and practical shooting scenarios that will leave a lasting impression for many years to come.

We would also like to invite you to stay tuned to our blog, The PM Data Book. We will be adding posts and videos periodically with viewer questions, our testing, and upcoming courses. We are happy to address any questions that you may have about cartridges and platforms. We invite everyone to post their findings also. Growth in our firearms community is the #1 intention.

VERY interesting Jon, I will be watching this for sure. Cousin "skinney" here at the Hide pointed me your direction. Would be fun to learn a thing or two in the next couple years.

Thanks for the welcome c_bass16. Our Off the Reservation Courses are designed to challenge both beginners and experienced shooters by enhancing the shooting environment. The NRA Whittington Center is a great place for this type of training and we're really looking forward to the 2010 season.

We are still working in SD this year too and will have dates online by the end of the week. We are working with the Varmint Hunter Association's facilities in Ft. Pierre and the area for the Long Range Prairie Dog shoots. I am hoping to see some records set or close to it anyways.

I am offsite conducting a course this week, so I apologize for the delay in responses here. If you have any questions on anything, I can always be reached at the number below or by email. Spent a week at Whittington nearly a decade ago, shooting the flat range along with a few of the original SH members. Stayed in the Hunting Cabins, and had some very basic briefing about the Whittington back country hunting facilities. I think you've got yourself an outstanding venue for your training.

We are getting our Sniper Sustainment: .308 online for August. It is a 4-5 day course that focuses on movement/observation techniques in both mountainous and flatland terrain, along with live fire stalking exercises. It is designed specifically for Afghanistan and for Border Unit Operations and the fifth day is an optional 12 hour mission day in the Backcountry of the NRA Whittington Center.

I will post updates to the dates both here and our website. If you haven't signed up for our newsletter yet, I'd strongly suggest it. We have courses popping up all of the time in all areas of the country. We also post updates on our Facebook Page

Our Off the Reservation Courses are open to all experience levels. We train from a holistic shooting standpoint and will give you everything you need to continue to grow with your shooting career once you leave the course. The OTR Courses are unique because we take you off the flat ranges and put you in the NRA Whittington Center's mountainous Back-Country. This environment both enforces and refines the fundamentals of Long Range Precision Shooting.

Our instructors are all combat veterans and have been instructing both in and out of the military. This has given us a good working knowledge of the cartridges and platforms we instruct on. Our OTR Courses are a strictly recreational focus and will instill an appreciation for practical long range engagements.

Here is the AAR from our last OTR PM30 course at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM. It was a great course and we were honored to get to shoot with everyone.

Our next course at the NRA Whittington Center is September 20-22, 2010 and there are three slots remaining. We are also starting a new program for all active duty military and law enforcement officers to attend each of our courses at no cost. This is limited to one slot per class and we have one open for the September PM: The Distance course. Send us an email if you are active duty mil/leo and we will get you more information.

Great stuff, Keith Pagel just sent me an email talking about your mil/leo deal.

"Our next Off the Reservation Course, PM: The Distance, is September 20-22, 2010. This course is open to cartridges up to and beyond 1000 yards. This is our last Off the Reservation Course for the year and we have three slots left open in the course. All discounts apply; we have had several friends/family members attend with our Shooter/Spotter Discount to date, so take advantage with the last three slots of the 2010 OTR Courses.
We are also beginning a Mil/LEO Program where one slot in each of our courses is free to active duty Military or Law Enforcement Personnel. This is a first come/first serve basis, so give us a call, the sooner the better."

I'm in school (CGSC and working on my masters) so I'll figure out a time and maybe I might be able to attend?

Stefan73, thank you for posting our Military/LEO Program. We are allocating one slot per course for all active duty Military and Law Enforcement Personnel. We also offer a discounted rate for additional Mil/LEO personnel attending our courses.

We have one slot open for the OTR PM: The Distance Course at the NRAWC for this program and are working first come first serve. This will be an ongoing program that will go into the 2011 training season.
