I have a 24” proof barrel chambered in .308. Muzzle brake thread pitch is 5/8x24. Barrel came off a rem 700 action. Has about 100rounds down the pipe. Looking to get 475 for shipped.
Just spent 30 minutes doing research. Remington's production process creates variations between rifles in how the headspace is set. I found a comment that barrels are installed first and the headspace is achieved by machining bolt lugs. This makes almost impossible interchanging barrels between production rifles afterwards without getting custom made recoil lugs.
