What are the pros and cons of the steel vs carbon barrels,specifically on the Bergera BMR rifle.?well besides the weight and cost factors .weight may be a positive thing for accuracy ,while the carbon does look good

Don’t go with the carbon Bergara Unless you specifically need something lite. It’s a pencil barrel under a carbon fiber tube.

For me, $94 for 1/2 pound less weight with no accuracy improvement makes no sense.

B14r specific response below. I realize you asked about the BMR.

weight savings. If that doesn't matter to you, I'd go with steel if I had to do it again. I say this as someone who has the carbon and no regrets. Accuracy differences are supposedly negligible.
