PRS Talk PRS ammo

My opinion is hand loading is best but very time consuming. Hornady match is good enough and not too expensive. Then you have the copper creek type custom ammo that is pricey but very good.

club matches or national matches?

club matches, probably around 20-40% factory

national matches, probably less than 10%
- mostly based on the fact that 70-80% of the field shoots wildcats(dasher, br, bra, brx) or non commercially available(6xc, 6x47, 6.5x47) calibers

if your question is do you have to reload to do well in PRS, no
does it help, it should if you know what you're doing

To partially quote the HMFIC, this is the golden age of bullet design and factory match ammunition. Between Prime, Federal Gold Medal Match, Berger, Hornady and many others; there are plenty of offerings that can yield great groups, consistent muzzle velocity and small standard deviations.
