PRS rifle - best choice ?

Can’t go wrong with any. Ideally you’d get your hands on all of them to decide which you prefer.

If not you’ll need to decide if you like he look and feel of a “stock” vs a chassis

For PRS either of the chassis options. While I love my manners stocks, I don't think they're the best choice for PRS style shooting. I like my MPA chassis but the ACC is great as well.

I see that. It looks like the the difference is the Pro 2 has no muzzle brake, but has a Lothar Walther barrel blank and a Triggertech Diamond trigger. The Pro has an MPA muzzle brake, X-caliber barrel blank, and Triggertech Special Trigger. Everything else looks the same.

I just bought a Pro and am not disappointed. It is consistently under .5 MOA with the X-Caliber barrel. My last group yesterday was .325 with factory Hornady140 ELD-M's. I haven't touched the Triggertech Special since I got it and the MPA muzzle brake is pretty effective.

If you can find one, the Pro or Pro 2 are tough to beat for the price with the MPA BA Comp chassis and the other accessories included. Factory lead times are way out there though.

Shot 2 more 5 shot groups with the MPA PMR Pro today with factory Hornady 140 ELD-M at .520 and .475. One shot in each of these groups was an outlier (probably operator error) with the other 4 shots being even tighter. It is meeting MPA's .5 MOA gurantee and it may do better as I only have 50 rounds through it.

I would shy away from the X-caliber barrel. I'm sure that you are right that it meets MPAs 1/2 moa guarantee but I like to stick to the really premium benchrest quality barrels. Bartlein, Hart, Krieger, Brux, Benchmark, Proof. I would choose Walther over X caliber. I just don't think the barrel is the place to compromise on a rifle but that's just me. You can add a brake and still compete in production class.

MPA has a pretty good record of putting together accurate rifles regardless of the barrel used. They do their own chambering and the tight specs used probably has something to do with it. The X-caliber wouldn't have been my first choice, and I likely won't re-barrel with one, but this one can shoot better than I can.

That's what is weird to me about this conversation. I thought MPA bought out Spencer barrels and where making their own. Why are they using others. What happened?

I think they may use them on their higher end rifles and use the X-Calibers (and now Lothar's) on the Production Class guns to make the price point.

Is probably go mpa as I prefer the chassis to the mdt. Both excellent, just fit the mpa a bit better. All choices are excellent though. Just decide if you want 60 or 90 degree ans run with it

Happy with my PMR Pro. Wonder how someone other than MPA would know between the PMR PRO and PMR PRO 2. Barrel is not marked with manufacturer and serial number is just MPA#####.
