PRS scope option

Due to a few really good deals i am deciding between two options for optics and looking for opinions, thanks for any help.
option 1 -- Leupold mark 4 3.5-18 pr2 reticle
option 2 -- Leupold mark 4 6-24 pr3 reticle

My few thoughts are i prefer the pr3 reticle and I have a small concern on the 6 power on the low end.
I cant get the pr3 in the 3.5-18 as far as I see

Mounting on gas AR in 223 wylde
Thanks again

initial target aquisition on shorter targets was my only thought. Currently using a 1-6 LPVO without much complaint but I have an option to grab one of the options above and wanted to try it out. No concerns on the top end being 18 or 24. MOst likely wont ever use them that high.

If you have to zoom your scope out to acquire targets and then zoom back in you are lost. That is not how you acquire targets. Acquire the target location with the naked eye, point the muzzle at it while still looking at it with the naked eye, and then move your head into position behind the scope without moving the gun. The top pros do this even on higher than 20x with instant target acquisition. If you can't do this then you just haven't practiced it enough. For 99% of PRS stages you should select a magnification setting before the stage and never touch it once the clock starts.

Just a quick review I did end up with the 6-24 pr3 and so far I like it. One match so far and performed well.
I ran the match at 12 and 14 power out to 660 yrds. I am going to miss the focus on the LPVO, I dont like turning any dials durring a stage but could have used some focus going from 220 to 660 but it worked well enough. Ill get used to it.
Thanks for the help
