had a load worked up in hornady brass and it was shooting pretty good, shot the same in once fired FGMM, then got some prvi partizan brass loaded the same spec and shot it today and in both of ny bolt guns th bolt would come up fine then be hard to turn the last little bit, unlock and cycle fine. so do i need to just not use this brass?

Re: prvi partizan brass

What cal. are you using- .308?

The bolt was hard to close on the new, unfired brass?
I would check it with the headspace gauge and compare it to your fire-formed brass.

If you have a tight chamber, maybe it's possible that it needs to be re-sized (shoulders bumped back) even though it's new brass??

Relatively new to reloading, just my guess as to a possibility. I'm sure others that know more than I will chime in...

Privi brass is good but pretty thick, you may want to adjust your sizer down a bit and get a case guage if you don't have one yet, it will save you some headaches at the range.

Re: prvi partizan brass

You need to inspect for further signs of excessive pressure. Are there ejector kick marks and/or swipes on the case head? How flat are the primers?

If you chamber one of the loaded cartridges, then unchamber it, do you feel the same "stiff spot" on bolt lift?

If not, you are experiencing a tell-tale sign of pressure, and need to back off!

Weigh several pieces of each kind of brass you've got. Not a DEFINITIVE asessment, but in general, heavier brass will show pressure at a given charge weight sooner than lighter brass.
