Finally received my 6-24FFP MRAD from Liberty on Tuesday. Thanks a lot to Scott hes been a pleasure to work with, even worked it out with me to drop ship it from Vortex because I have a pdog trip Im leaving for very soon.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised after hearing some bad things about the scopes lately. Another friend just got one, and looked through another and told me I was going to be disappointed when I got mine due to clarity (Razor owner).

Well, I own a Razor, have seen S&B, Hens, NF, etc. I am very very impressed with the clarity. It is easily on par with my Razor up to 20x, and it really does not degrade much if at all after that. Dont misread this, Im not saying it is Hens quality, I'm saying for a scope less than a third the price, the quality is not a third of any of those.

The elevation tracks straight, have not had a chance to test the actual tracking yet, but the clicks are excellent. Feel very similar to the Razor, with maybe a touch less resistance.

Love the reticle, although I love the EBR-2B even better because of the holdover dots, but for half the price Ill live with it.

I was able to get the zero stop to stop 2 mils below my zero, which works well because I shoot a few different loads out of my 308 that require me to dial down sometimes. Its not quite as nice as the Razors brick shithouse ZS, but does its job perfectly.

Fit and finish was perfect on mine. No loose mag ring, good feeling parallax knob. Overall a great great optic, and not just for the money, I would definitely pay $1000 for a scope like this if they werent cheaper than that.

As of now, its only downfall is lack of elevation to run one on an ELR gun, but for anything shooting in the 1200yd and under realm this is a perfect optic.

Thanks Vortex and Liberty!

Re: PST Surprise

I was going to post this in the "Disappointment" thread.

I as well am very pleased with the quality of my 1-4 PST. Even though i have yet to take it to the range i'm very optimistic that it will perform on par with its higher priced competitors.

The quality and function of the glass and turrets is very good. The only problem that i have found is a little glitch with the illumination, and that may be operator error...

Re: PST Surprise

i am very glad to hear that you boys are happy with your scope. Im taking the next few weeks to decide if im going to order on in the 4-16x50mm or go with a conquest 4.5-14x44mm. Im undecided but im leaning towards the PST as for i am a very happy customer of vortex with there normal viper.

Re: PST Surprise

i have the 1-4x24, finally zeroed it at 100. i kinda wish i would have waited for my 6-24x50 to come in but i found a deal on a 3-15x56 NF

The 1-4x24 with my hand loads netted a 1/2 MOA 5 shot group, not too bad for a 4 power

When you say ELR, tell me your thoughts?

Re: PST Surprise

Is the CR2032 battery being dented by the cap when you tighten it?

Re: PST Surprise

Due to some recent medical issues, my PST 6-24 FFP MRad is still in the box. I have gotten a chance to lay hands on it to check out reticle, etc and, so far, my impressions are that it is a very nice scope for the $$. It is my first foray into FFP and, IMHO, the reticle is a nice match for the scope I'll try to post observations once I get it mounted and do some shooting.

Well, after zero on a 20moa base I think I have 12 or 13 mils of vertical travel. For a extended long range gun (outside 1200yds for most calibers) this is not sufficient unless you put it on a 60moa base and zero at 600yds.

If you were to tune the base perfectly so you had 1 mil below zero, you could come close to using it on a super long range rig, but the 36 mils of travel in the Razor is just much more comfortable.

Do what I did and get both! Good deals on a NF don't last very long.

I ran into the same problem. Using a standard base, it didn't have enough left after zero to get my loads to 1,000 yards. After switching to a 20 minute base I have more than I need.
