Looking to purchase something to hunt coyotes at night, usually at 150 yard or less. Have used a Pulsar XP-38 before put hates the size and weight. (Both the items purchased are in the 16 oz. range.) Eyes are not the best so like the idea of further magnification with the Digisight. Anyone else been down this road?

These are very different devices. However, for coyote hunting, thermal reigns. One of the many cool things about the Hogster 25 or 35 is their size. You could take them off the gun and use them as a really good scanner at times making them more versatile. I am a thermal guy, so would go the Hogster route. The Hogster also has a 4 year warranty. If you can't shoot fox in your state, digital night vision can help make quicker positive ids. Besides this, thermal all the way.

Shooting a fox isn’t illegal so that won’t be an issue. The size and weight were why I was considering spending extra for the hogster and not considering the cheaper Pulsar unit.
