Night Vision Pulsar Krypton

The new trick seems to be to "assemble" foreign parts in the USA and call things "USA made" ... AFAIK, this is still a made in PRC unit, though there is one part that is not made in PRC.
How many US manufacturers are there of a 640 x 12um core? Hmmm....
Best way to know the answers to your questions is to call them, they're pretty on the ball with customer relations in my experience. I'd be interested to know the answers as well.
Kinda lame they have a clip on monocular adaptable model with no head mount ability, and the clip on only model. Image quality looks pretty sweet however, probably not as "good" as the Trijicon scopes but definitely getting close as far as detail. MSRP of 4.7k$ US, 8 hour battery life, should be a contender for us poors. Personally I'm holding out for something with a bit more mounting dexterity I think. If they could lose the software fluff and lower the price a tad I'd be all about it, but doubtful it would make much of a dent as I'm pretty sure they do that with their models to add equity of usage without jacking up the price much at all.

I ordered mine and it shipped yesterday. I'm in Europe.
Going to put it on a Schmidt & Bender 3-21 EXOS and a Schmidt & Bender 5-20 PMII, perhaps other scopes.
In understand the sensor is Made in USA but it is manufactured in Lithuania (EU).

Your YouTube videos of the Krypton have been up since 25th August, well before any official Pulsar video release. What is your relationship with Pulsar?
Are you planning on using the Krypton on the JP AR10 you posted about in the Semi Auto AR10 build thread? I'd like to know how the clamp mount holds up to large frame gas gun recoil.
I'd be interested is seeing some pictures and/or video of actual magnification range through the scope.
Also pictures and/or video of a 5 shot group @100 with and without the Krypton would be appreciated. I haven't seen any proof yet of how the Krypton collimates or how POI shift is overcome/corrected.

I don't have a relationship with Pulsar, I got the videos from a local dealer. There seems to be more videos from around that date, I had no idea I was first (if that's the case?) They deal with Pulsar, ATN and a bunch of other brands.

For the Pulsar Krypton I have ordered adapters for most if not all riflescope sizes just to be able to put it where I want.
I've never used a clip-on, so not sure what to expect as I'll be zooming into pixels.
I will certainly try to mount it on my S&B 3-27, but I'm not allowed to hunt with an AR10 where I live (target shooting permit only).
I wonder what happens with the S&B 5-25 and 5-45 and similar scopes, I guess 5x is too much.

I was saving my pennies to get a super hogster, but the krypton is exactly what I'm looking for, if it lives up to the hype.
NVV, I'm looking forward to your point of impact test results at different ranges after sighting it in, removing and remounting it.
I know they have more robust and cleaner looking aftermarket adapters available for them now, that are said to make it worry free in holding POI.
I never trusted the plastic inserts that pulsar uses for their adapters.

I'm just assuming now, but I think it's pretty accurate. I don't have an ACOG and I don't have the Krypton yet, but I find it hard that an adapter would work or can easily be made.
They show and demonstrate the two aftermarket adapters in the video, albeit one was said to be a prototype, but would be available shortly.
All OBJ mounts and no rail mounting, but that might change after the krypton gets out into actual users hands.
Being pulsar has jumped into the BAE core arena, I think I might wait for when they come out with a Krypton with the BAE core.
We may see a EU vs US line of products, with the US using BAE perhaps. But as far as I know I think the Pulsar Ffront attachments will take long to reach the US.

I have the Predecessor The FXq50 I freaking love that thing. I have it sitting behind a 2.5x10 night force and its lights out.
I used the Krypton FXG50 as a hand-held device on a hunt yesterday evening.
Conditions were +6C, a lot of fog and clear sky. I was able to spot animals very far away.
My friend - with a Blaser 9,6 + Pulsar Digex Night Vision - is in the picture with the family of hogs.
Not graphic, but a hog goes down. Perfect shot, so the hog is hidden in the grass, you don't really see the hit.
The shot is around 04:10 in the video, the dvice auto-calibrates just before, then the family starts to move into cover.

Conditions: Darkness, almost no sunshine today. +5C, foggy and forest with a lot of trees and brush. Range about 20-30 meters.

This is pretty wild. I used to Krypton as hand-held and filmed a shotgun shooting birdshots on steel.
I noticed in all of your videos of the FXG50, there is a line across the lower 1/3ish of the image and everything below that is very pixelated / blurry. Is this a problem in the scope or something else?
Yes, it's fixed now.
Shot 300 meters with it. Extremely poor contrast as everything was about +2C. The only contrast was the difference between paper and rubber on the electronic target. Not much, but you gotta trust what you see and shoot. It's not something I'd do in a real hunting situation.
Setup was JP PCS12 in 6,5 CM and the cheapest 6,5 CM I can find from S&B. This ammo worked in my Tikka by the JP didn't like it as much as it spread in height.
Shot a few series with it with the Schmidt & Bender 3-27x56 PMII. Put the Pulsar Krypton on, no other zeroing etc. Have never shot this combo ever before.
I got about the same grouping as before, if not better actually.
My friend did the same thing. For some reason his groups were constantly lower than mine both without the Krypton and with it.
My 5 shot group was about 20-25 cm. I'm probably too eager to shoot and try this thing, and I don't like this trigger. TriggerTech incoming.
His group was about 12-15 cm, with one flyer...
And between his and my shooting I took the Krypton off and put it back. Not really a scientific test, but at least we shot a lot of rounds all within the 8/10 ring at 300 meters at a cold target.
To my surprise I could use 10-12 power magnification on the S&B, it felt the best on the little contrast I had. Reticle GR2ID.

I see in the video that his "flyer" comes after a malfunction. The JP had low gas so had to stop recording and clear it for him.
That's his group, same as the video above. 300 meters with Krypton.

And if I compare it to how my Tikka TAC A1 shot with it, it's actually similar to the JP. I remembered the Tikka as more accurate.

Gotta love thermal! Really curious to see through a good scope at about 8x on a deer at about 400m, is it even usable in this scenario?
Well I was able to shoot steel in very poor conditions (the steel was the same temperature) at 300-400 meters.
Had there been anything warm on that field it would have been toast.
I was more thinking, I wonder if I could hit 900-1000 meters with it. I'd really like to try some day.
If you were able to hit same temp steel at 300-400 that is impressive for sure! From everything I've seen so far I think the Krypton FXG50 is at the top of my list right now, the problem is it is not available in the states yet.
It works. 1250 meters. Had to cut the image a bit for OpSec.
The reflection is the white in the image reflecting onto my iPhone cover picked up on the S&B lens. Sorry guys, this is almost impossible to catch on a photo. But it works.

1250 meters, it's been raining for the past xx days. Cold, foggy, overcasr.

If they were all good hits, it kinda makes me nervous that it looked like the target was rising in the field of view for each subsequent shot. Like it’s not holding the same zero? Just scrolled the video back and forth a few times, but maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.
The battery pack upgrade from the fxq model is an interesting upgrade
Not holding a perfect zero, and even coming off zero when pushing the buttons on the unit is the same problem I had with the fxq50 (previous generation of pulsar thermal clip-on) which used a similar style of objective mount.
There was an option with the fxq model to use trail scope mounts to mount the unit to the pic rail which seemed to cut down on the issue quite a bit
Having had this experience with the previous model my #1 concern / question is have they done anything to improve the objective mount system?
I ASSUME you mean there is no mounting options for trail type mounts, but ... Any chance you've been able to see if there is enough structure in the housing to possibly have a mount fabricated specifically for the unit?
If possible it would drive the cost up, but may make it a feasible option... If not I'll keep clip-on units off my radar a bit longer still

In the pulsar promotional videos, they show the user connecting the unit to the front obj with the correct adapters, lining up the crosshairs with the center of the thermal display, tightening the adapter screws and it's all set to go.
No zero'ing needed.

I spent most of today, at least when the sun was up, shooting the Krypton at 100 and 300 meters. It was freezing today, and the day ended with snow.
The target at 100 m was a small thermal pad. As you can see there is not much to aim at. My 100 meter zero is probably a little high, but I was looking for groupings not to hit the actual pad.
The target at 300 m is Kongsberg 300 m international. aiming at the top of the black rubber which gives some kind of visual on the thermal. No external heat.
I mounted it properly (much better than before, I was afraid of my S&B) and shot 3-4 shots, then pushed it all the way to the left, then all the way to the right.
Then I took it off, mounted it again to the best of my capability as I would think the best position would be and shot again. At 100 meter I get very little shift.
It was mounted on my JP PCS12 (AR10) with a S&B 3-27 in a Spuhr mount. There is no muzzle brake on this thing, so the recoil is there. Ammo: cheapest I can find, Sellier & Bellot 6,5 Creedmoor.
Then I shot it at 300 meters, with a hold-over. 3 shot groups with more than decent hits. Then my friend shot it. Then I shot it a few times fast with 5 shot groups. All decent hits within 8/10 points at 300 meters, I hade one last shot which was a 5 or something but just sloppy last shot shooting I think.
Then I shot it 300 meters without the Krypton, that was actually one of my worst groupings LOL, but I was probably getting tired.
Then I put the Krypton on back again and shot it at 100 meters again. Again good hits. In fact I have never shot a group this small EVER! 3 shots hole in hole, I don't expect to repeat that, but there are several witnesses. The rifle isn't not supposed to shoot that well, especially with this ammo and freezing cold.
You can see the "pattern" from the trials described above in the attached picture.
Is there a POI shift, but it's much less than expected. I think some of the height issues actually may be shooter error, and I put the reticle wrong but not sure. All in all probably about 7x7 cm for about 16 shots.
I could use up to about 20x on the scope and it was ok, sometime the reticle of the scope and the lines of the screen align strangely so that is probably more of an issue than the magnification onto the screen itself. I prefer to use 7-12x for the long range, remember the reticle is quite fine and of course the battery died on the S&B.

My friend shooting this setup for the 1st time. I accidentaly paused so shot 2 and 3 are in the video.
He shot a little lower than me, but nice group.
That's 3 shots within about 10-11 cm. Each line is 5 cm, so you do the math.
(and I consider 300 m being Long Range with thermals)

So for something like this in other countries is it possible to get them imported into the US? I have no clue how that would work.

I think there's a special place on Guantanamo for that, with orange suits? Seriously, I don't know. The sensor is from the USA, but laws are seldom sensible.

It's frustrating that I can't get my hands on a affordable thermal unit that I've been waiting decades for someone to produce.
Oh, I get that if you were shipping US tech to other countries but since we have the tech here that’s why I was curious how the ITAR works on bringing stuff in.
