When setting zero on my SWFA do you push down (slight spring tension) on the turret when tightening set screws or do I let it sit at natural hight and then set the screws? How is that for a stupid question......

It is not a stupid question because you've never done it. You have to get it down past the o-ring and hold it all the way down. Tiborsaueus Rex has a YouTube video showing how to do it as well as 8541 Tactical.
