Pushing shots with tripod

You said pushed left…then you said right. Maybe I misunderstood.

Are you shooting a tiny group, it just happens to be 1 inch off or is it shots going left (or right) out of an otherwise centered group?

Tripod legs? One forward to push against? One back to recoil against? Helter-skelter?

Height? Apex just slightly lower than nipple line when you are standing erect next to the tripod (hehehe, I said erect).

Your legs? Feet wider than shoulders? Shoulders in front of hips?

What are you doing with your left hand (assuming you are a righty)?

More questions than answers, sorry.

Opps sorry, it should be pushed left.

It is a small group, but 1 1/2 inches to the left.

I have the tripod setup with two legs back and one forward, height is 2 inches above nipple line, feet wider than shoulders, shoulders in front of hips, left hand on left back leg

Here’s my uninformed diagnosis... I know you say you feel very square, but... With your left hand on the rear tripod leg, you may be unintentionally pushing that shoulder forward. That would cause an angle in your form that would push the rifle muzzle left as well.

So, there is such a thing as slightly differing zeros for different positions, which is why I asked about group size. I don’t think this is a case of that but it’s a thought.

I’d try a little lower on the tripod height. Try it about 2-4 inches lower.

Try something different with your left hand. I think there’s a good chance that holding the leg is pulling your left shoulder forward or creating a lever that’s acting on the recoil impulse. Try your hand on the apex or up over your barrel right in front of the scope.

Just my two cents. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the suggestions.
The POA does swing to the POI after the shot
just guessing that you might be pushing the rifle a little bit right and that pressure is lost on firing.
firm hold works for me off the tripod with a piston gas gun (.308) but i am nobody to give advice.

Double check natural point of aim. If you get all set on the bullseye and let go, “1/4” air gap around the gun” as the HMFIC would say, does the reticle move? If the offset groups are small, whatever you are doing is consistent, so probably not randomly pressuring the rifle from “off the target” to “on the target” but it’s worth being aware of.

One leg forward 2 legs backhand? any pressure on the butt without pulling it into your shoulder? If rifle is pointed left of front leg then you may be roating into it.

also maybe less cheek pressure

so I made a video today and posted it up on our YouTube. Also feel free to shoot us a message I would be happy to help you get better accuracy when shooting off our tripod 👊👊👊

Full disclaimer: this is what I have found works best for me in all positions there are many different variations on shooting off a tripod I would be happy to video chat with you and go over whats going on and how to better help
