I just read a post on ar15 about a guy who claims to have both and strongly picked the PWS over the scar. He stated things about muzzle climb being more on the SCAR then the PWS and other things that contradict everything I know about the SCAR. He also stated better accuracy...the SCAR is quite accurate and with the FSC556 brake second shots are excellent! Does anyone have both here or shot both. I only have experience with the SCAR at this point and it has been very good. Let me know...I am calling BS on his findings more over I dont thing he has a SCAR to begin with.

Re: PWS over SCAR

Well....I have owned both SCAR 16 ad 17. But before I get into it I want to define that I am not specifically speaking of recoil. I talking about muzzle rise. In both cases I found the muzzle rise to be greater on ths SCAR series rifles vs their counterparts. I will say that in the case of actual recoil, I found the SCAR 17 had greater recoil than my KAC EMC. But the difference was very small. On the topic of muzzle rise IMO it was no contest. The SCAR16 and 17 had greater muzzle rise compared to their ar counterparts. Or so it would seem. As I timed stages of fire, for example, I could actually shoot my 308 pattern AR faster than I could my SCAR16! It seemed to me that the massive bolt in the SCAR would rock the rifle off target for me much more than an AR. Recoil is very light for both but that bolt rocks the SCAR rifle. However, one day I found that if I adjusted the way I shouldered the SCAR my times dramatically fell. This brought at least my SCAR 16 right in line and sometimes even a little faster than the same run with my AR. But if I forget to adjust, my times and accuracy pay the price. So in the end I can absolutely understand why someone could come away with the impression that the recoil of the SCAR series rifles is greater.
