Night Vision Qiuck question on viewing distance with a PVS-14?

At those ranges haveing the 3X lens and a IR Illum on dark nights would help alot. With the PVS-14 the 1X lens really limits you more than anything targets are very small much past 100 yards.

I would be using a PVS-14 behind an Eotech for coyote hunting. Will I be able to see and engage a coyote out to 200-300 yards? Thanks!

If you can engage a coyote at 200-300 yards in daylight with your Eotech, you'll be able to do the same with PVS-14 + Eotech in low light / night time conditions. The thing to keep in mind is the amount of the target that is covered (obscured) by your aiming reticule / dot at 200 - 300 yards, which is a consideration regardless of whether it is light or dark.

If you opt to use a 3x magnifier with PVS-14 + Eotech, you need to know that it will do two things: (1) magnify the aiming reticule / dot as well as the down range image, and (2) will darken your view / lower your image resolution from the PVS-14.

IR-V

I should add maybe you should look at a IR laser instead of a eotech? I used nothing but eotech's /PVS-14's for many, many years and have spend hunderds of hours shooting such setups that said the last 12-24 months I moved over to a Eolad and D2 IR laser systems. I should have made that change along time ago a high end IR laser just really works well with a helmet mounted NV and I can snap the 3X afocal on for longer range shooting and no loss of image resolution like IR-V is correct to point out above since you aren't viewing through the eotech screen also. A coyote is a pretty small target out there 200-300 yards at night it can be done with a good setup, range practice and the right time/place but most guys shooting varmints at those ranges will perfer a true NV weapon sight be it a scope or clip on. The reason I say that is as a hunter Im not just trying to hit a target I aim for a good chest or head shot so the animal is harvested quickly without needless suffering.

Both replies above are good.

I shot this coon at a laser measued 175 yards with just the DBAL-D2 0.7mW IR laser & DBAL-D2 IR Illuminator with a neutral density filter over the laser to mute the laser down to about 0.1mW equivalence and mute the bloom:

With the Eotech and PVS-14 and 3X Magnifier on your rail, you would also need a strong precise IR Illuminator like the TNVC Torch Pro....

This is a night shot through the PVS-14 and Polaroid 4.5X Magnifier at 175 yards to the oak tree where I nailed that raccoon with the laser..

The is the Eotech @ 175 yards with no magnification:

Here is a day shoot the above NV photos for comparison:
