Q's about the "6 digit recivers"

What identifies a "6 digit" reciver?

I have a Remington 700 long action reciver and the serial number reads: A6649XXX

Is the one of those "holy grail" M40 clone/goodie-goodie recivers?

No that would not qualify. The six digit receivers have no prefix (A in your case) and range from 168179-322769. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. There is a thread for the clone rifles here somewhere, it's lengthy and very detailed.

Yep, just read the sticky and just wanted to make sure.

Because if it was, then I'd try to spec it out.
