Hey guys
quick question my dumbass primed about 700 pieces of 223 brass that I purchased "ready to load" so I could make a bunch of .223 plinking on my progressive well I just happened to notice that one had a piece of corn cob or walnut media stuck in the flash hole. So no way to tell how many I have already primed that have media stuck in them.
so the question is will the media incinerate when the round goes off or could it possibly cause me to have a squib load or similar.

any info much appreciated. Don't really want to have to pop all 700 primers back out

Corn media will not impede firing, may not do much for accuracy, but will go off, tested this myself. Primer has some push to it, take just a primed non powdered case and hold muzzle close to a piece of cardboard and fire one, you will see.

Perhaps you could look in them with a light. You can typically see the primer through the flash hole.

I haven't personally experienced an issue due to a clogged flash hole but I think you are more likely to experience a hangfire than a squib. You'd want to be careful to keep the rifle pointed in a safe direction and not open the breech for a little while in the event of a misfire.

I have done this with a batch of 50 cases for my 308, I just shot them. I didn't see any issues. I was shooting steel for practice, I might not rely on them for a match.
