I have an FN SPR A2 with Issue Badger Rings and a Premier Heritage Scope. I want to install a badger ord tactical bolt knob. My concern though it the existing bolt knob is a bit tight already in relation to the ocular housing of the scope tube. Will this set up clear? I know it does on a rem/unertl and rem/s&b but has anyone done this?

Question on Bolt Handles (Re: FN

I have had Randy install his Gen 2 knobs on 6 SPRs and I have never had close to a clearance problem with the following scopes:

NF NXS, 5-22; S&B 3-12, S&B 4-16, S&B 5-25; Horus Falcon, Burris Black Diamond, IOR 3-18x42, and IOR 3.5x10. All using Seekins rings of the height necessary to get the Objective as close to the bell as possible.

While never installed, I did mock up a Heritage in a set of Seekins low rings and did not observe any clearance issues.

Question on Bolt Handles (Re: FN

Try a Tac Ops bolt handle. They sell one you can install yourself. It should cure your clearance issues and get you a nic e bolt handle. You can also DIY if you have a Dremel.

I just shoot them.... I'll leave the "Working on them" to someone else lol

Re: Question on Bolt Handles (Re: FN

Wrap masking tape around the current knob until it almost touches the objective, then measure the diameter. Compare that measurement to the max diameter of the knob you want to use.

If the knob is smaller, you'll be fine.

Re: Question on Bolt Handles (Re: FN

Judging by the pictures I would say it will clear. When I put mine on I mill the existing bolt head to the thread diameter and thread that. Then the new knob is about the same as the original in diameter to position relation. So scope clearence isn't an issue.

i agree with ryank, it should clear. us handgunner did mine and after looking at your picture i really dont think it will be any closer than it already is. good luck. and it was absolutley worth having it done!!!
