I just purchased a NIB DPMS LRT-SASS. It came with a NIB LaRue STOMP mount. LINK This mount is amazing! However it is a little more than I need for this particular rifle.

What do you think this is worth? It is hard to figure out since they aren't available for retail sale...

What type of mount is recommended for a flat top 308 AR like this? I am using a Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10 x 40mm LR/T.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Question on LaRue mounts

Not sure why in the hell anybody would put a mount specifically designed for the Remington 700 bolt action on an AR-platform rifle, but ok...

You can get them, but they are somewhat rare. If it is in good shape (or better) AND it comes the rings/inserts (which appear to be there), and the NV overarm (which does not appear in your pic) it is probably worth $500 give or take. If it is missing the NV overarm...who knows. I would check with Larue and see if the overarm is available seperately and deduct that amount from your asking price.

As for the best mount for the AR-10/DPMS 308 rifles...get the LT-158.

Re: Question on LaRue mounts

It was strange but the rifle was NIB and the mount was included NIB... It does NOT have the NV over arm however... I wasn't sure if it was supposed to have that or not. Would you just put it on GB?

The LT-158 looks like the ticket - however it doesn't include 20 moa cant. How important do you think that is given the sight I'm using?

Direct is the way to go.....+ they send some nice free goodies.

Re: Question on LaRue mounts

Absolutely order direct...the free stuff from Larue is first-rate as is their customer service (not to mention the mounts themselves).

The last Larue ordered I placed was entered on a Tuesday and I had my mount (and goodies) on Friday in time for a weekend at the range.

Re: Question on LaRue mounts

I personally found the LT-158 to be a bit low for my liking with a 30mm scope tube. I'd stick with the LT-104.

Another mount to consider is the LT-111 (found in the New Products section of the LaRue store). On an AR-10 you don't need your mount to push the scope forward of the upper receiver like you do on an AR-15.
