I got my first QB can for 5.56MM. I'm putting it on a bolt action rifle. However, I was curious if anyone had any experience with their suppressors on AR type rifles.

If so, were there any problems with it coming unscrewed? If it did come unscrewed, how was that problem fixed?

Was there much blow back into the action? If so, what round did this occur with? Were any modifications needed for the gas block?

I drilled out the baffles and the end cap without any problems and checked the alignment with a Geissle SAG. Everything lines up perfect. I am hoping to get out and do some shooting with it within a few days and get a range report posted.

I'm by no means a suppressor expert but I have 1 that I use on everything from 300WSM to 22lr. It's a direct thread, it's important that they are hand tight(tight). If they get loose you will get baffle strikes, keep checking it but be aware they get very hot. Blowback is an issue with Gas Guns, it hasn't been an issue on bolt guns. AR's absolutely need either an adjustable gas block or an adjustable gas key on the BCG. More than likely you will also need a heavier buffer and stiffer buffer spring.

If you are shooting a direct thread suppressor, there is always a chance that it will work its way loose. This doesn’t mean it will cause a baffle strike, however it is a possibility. I have had direct thread can come lose during strings of fire. It didn’t cause a strike, but groups went to shit. Check tightness every 10 rounds or so.

As to the gas blowback, that is guaranteed! First round, 7 round, 20 rounds... it’s going to happen. It will foul the action, so keep lube on hand at the range. I usually add more after 100 rounds.

As for the gas block, if you don’t already have one, upgrade to an SLR gas block. Shooting a semi auto suppressed will require tuning.

I took the QB can out for a session today. It's mounted on a Mossberg MVP in 5.56MM. I shot it at 100 yards with some old Samson (IMI) 55 grain soft point ammunition. Prior to this, my groups with that rifle and another can with the same ammo could be twice as large.

To say that I am impressed is an understatment.
