Hi, I have been doing a lot of research on Remington 700 models, and have decided to go with the Remington 700 SPS Varmint 308. I have been doing some research on rifle scopes that i am interested in, but i am kind of in a fluster, and was hoping someone might have some advice to give me on the subject. I am having a hard time finding a scope, and i do not know much about them. I will be using the rifle for target shooting and deer hunting, i will be shooting at a maximum of 300 yards. What scope dimensions would be best for both? Also, which brands are good and durable? If you could enlighten me on this matter i would be very grateful, Thank you very much.

Give us an idea of how much you want to spend and if there are any features that you KNOW you absolutely want in the scope and that might at least let us get you in the ballpark.

Otherwise, you'll get suggestions/recommendations on scopes that range from $100 chicom crap to $3800 S&Bs!

Re: Questions about modifying a remington 700 sps v

Considering my income, i would be willing to spend about 400-500 max on a scope for now. I was thinking maybe a 3-9x or a 3.5-10x
for the distance i will be shooting; about 100-300 yards. I don't really need a super high-tech/high-end scope, but one that has good accuracy and durability. Im not familiar with all the features that can come with a scope, any recommendations?

3-9x is great mag for your needs. There are a lot of good scopes in your price range. Hard to pick just one. Personally I'd be looking at leupold, vortex, Wotac, Burris, and the SWFA super sniper (though that one is touch out of your price range).
