Rifle Scopes Questions about Sphur A-0010 RMR interface

I'm attempting to attach an RMR to my Sphur mount using the A-0010 interface. Two questions, it comes with a shim plate. I don't need the additional height but it appears the posts on the mount are too tall to use without the shim plate? With the shim plate installed the factory RMR screws appear to just barely grab threads and certainly won't bite enough to torque to 12 inch pounds. The factory screws appear to be .5" long. What size screws do I need? Thank you for any guidance.

Could you please share what you used to mount your RMR? I am trying to mount a Holosun and have the same issue. I contacted Spuhr and found that the plate is an M4 thread and I can’t find M4 screws with a head that will fit the Holosun. Thank you.
