I’m in the market for a lightweight titanium suppressor around 6” long for a 20” 300WSM hunting rifle. I have had no prior experience with any of these mentioned suppressor companies; only AAC about 12 years ago. I’ve narrowed my choices down to the following four and would like to know your thoughts if you own one or more of these:
SilencerCo Scythe TI. It’s in a dead heat with the Dead Air Nomad TI XC. They are both similar size and weight with similar mounting options for me. I’ll likely have a A419 Hellfire TI brake and I can put an adapter on any of these to fit the A419 adapter. Both are good companies that quickly respond to email questions. The Scythe has a one port brake installed, but you can buy a brakeless end cap for if you want. The Nomad TI XC does not have a brake, but you can buy a braked end cap. In this regard they are both similar. Finding decibel ratings for both has been impossible. Both are liked by the few reviews people have given them. My gut says go with the Nomad, but I don’t have any real reason to pick it over the Scythe as of yet.
I’m also looking at the Banish Back Country and Meateater by Banish. The Meateater is more interesting as it had a brake that can be turned off and the baffles are removable for cleaning. The company that sells these seems to have a customer service issues that are not quite as bad as Aero, but pretty close and that’s a real detractor for me. They seem to have issues promising things they can’t deliver and maybe over stating performance. The cans are lightweight though.
Any guidance you can offer would be welcome.
