Rifle Scopes Questions on Premier 5-25x56 MOA ret.

OK, I am planning on getting a scope for a new build[338LM]. I had decided on a NF with the new turrets. Now the possibility of affording a premier has come into play. Two concerns are on my mind. First is the elev. turret. Can't remember how many MOA's in one revolution, and if there is 2 clicks per line, that seems a little too fine for my taste. Currently I have a S&B 4-16 and the clicks are so fine that I will go past my adjustment and have to come back. Most of my scopes now are NF's with the 10MOA per revolution. I remember seeing a pic of the Premier's MOA knob but can't find it now. If someone has it could they please post it?
My other concern is of the reticle itself. I really like the 1 MOA divisions. Most of my NF's are SFP NPR1 and I love the fine lines of this reticle. How is the thickness of the PH reticle at 25x compare to my NPR1? Since this is a long range gun, I be using that power probably 90% of the time. I wish I had taken a closer look at the PH when I was at SHOT but at the time didn't think I could afford it. I would like to hear any opinions of shooters out there that have this particular PH.

I looked at one the other day in MOA.... I need a scope for my TRG-42(338LM). Couple of things i didnt like about the PH. First of all, the elevation turret is like 45 moa per turn, with the numbers indicated in every 5 moa, so if you want to turn to 23 moa, you need to go to 20, then count clicks till you get to 23. The other thing i didnt like was the FFP ret on 25 power dissapears down to only about 18 or so MOA on the vertical.... well on a long shot if you wanted to just hold for elevation, your limited on distance. you need 22 MOA to get to 1000 yards. I ended up going with the NXS high speed in MOA. everything that i need in a scope and nothing that i dont need.

Here's a pic of the MOA turret (image taken from this post by cstactical):

As you can see, the turret hast 50 MOA per revolution, hashmarks for full and half MOA, numbered every 5 MOA. This corresponds to the MOA-ER reticle with hashmarks every MOA, "dashmarks" every half MOA and the ability to split the distance between full and half MOA marks into to get 1/4 MOA.

another thing they really screwed up in my opinion is they left the MTC at every 10 clicks - that is every 2.5 MOA. I could not get past that insanity and bought a S&B instead.

And for pure target shooting at 25x the reticle is a little thick. It is about .2 MOA. The Nightforce NPR1 is about .075 MOA, so this reticle is almost 3 times thicker.

edited to add - the Nightforce is approx. .075 MOA "AT THE DESIGNATED MAGNIFICATION" depending on scope model

That's not a fault of the FFP reticle. It's a function of turning up the power to 25X--the FOV is only so big. A SFP reticle would not help any--if calibrated for 25X it would simply only show 18 MOA all the time, instead of showing you more on lower powers.

The MTC is every <span style="font-weight: bold">2 MOA</span> = 8 clicks.

The reticle thickness is <span style="font-weight: bold">0.1MOA</span>, not that much different from 0.075 and still usable on 5x, and with FFP there is no "designated magnification" so you don't completely loose usability of your reticle when backing off magnification a little to overcome mirage for example like you do with SFP.

Really not sure where you're getting your information.

I was wrong on the .2 MOA. I looked back at the diagram and it is .1

Paul Lange (PH rep) told me in a phone conversation that it was 10 clicks or 2.5 MOA, in exactly those words.

edited to add - I might have bought it if I was told 8 clicks, but I was told 10 clicks

Sorry, I tried a couple scopes in Mils. Just couldn't wrap my head around them. Been using MOA a looong time, I'm in my sixty's. Maybe the fact that I'm left handed too! That said I recommended my daughter's boyfriend to go MIL since he hasn't developed any bad habits yet.
