Hello, I am sure somebody has used reloader 17 with 6.5x47. I am wondering if it is the same recipe as relaoder 15. Any comments? Any and all recipes who be appreciated.
Thanks

Don't have the recipe for it, but here is a good article to start.

You can always email the manufacturer of Reloder 17 and ask for the starting and ceiling grains, if you provide them with the bullet weight. I did that for my 243 win.

Agree with Steve123, that RL17 is <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">NOT</span></span> RL15 by any stretch of the imagination. Using data for RL15 to load RL17 is <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">NOT</span></span> recommended.

Re: Questions on Reloader 17

I tried to get RL-17 to produce accurate loads in my 6.5 x 47 L with 130 g Berger VLDs. I got great velocities 3,000+ fps with limited pressure signs but lousy accuracy. That was about the only powder in that gun/cartridge that did not shoot tiny little groups.

I may try it in my 6.5 x 55 AI once I get some cases fireformed.
