hey folks, could any of you tell me if this would affect anything pertaining to this rifle's accuracy. Owner claims the rifle to be NIB, believes stock to be a possible Boyd's factory seconds. What do you all think, would it hurt anything?
If it's just that little split near the trigger guard, I don't see how it could hurt anything. You could fix that. I can't think of any thing there (inside) that would have / or could rub on it. If anything else, ask the guy for the original stock as well.
I wouldn't. I think a ding or two provides character. As long as function is not compromised, suck it up and move on. I could go nutz if I allowed myself to obsess over wear and tear.
I like that reply, thanks, Greg. I just didn't know if a hole like that would jeopardize the integrity of the stock...then again, it is a .22, so maybe it it not the end of the world, huh?
