OK, so I've about had it with this. I've had my R700 since last October and I've been trying to figure this out. I hadn't shot it in a while so I forgot all about it, but just shot it this weekend and I think I remember why I quit shooting it. I've tried all the easy stuff, but this doesn't seem like a problem that is commonly talked about.
Occasionally the first, and almost always the 2nd rounds out of the magazine won't feed. The base of the round won't rise up enough for the bolt to catch on them. The front will come up, but the rear/base won't. I even have to fidget with the round to get it to come up because just the bolt riding over it one time won't break it loose so it will come up; sometimes it takes a great deal of fidgeting to get it to come up. That is what I don't understand, you'd think that if it was that big of a problem it would be obvious, but there isn't an obvious cause. Does anybody have any recommendations for a fix?
There are no burrs, edges, or abnormalities that I can see that would cause this. The spring seems to be plenty strong, the box is firmly inserted into the recess.
