Rifle Scopes Rail questions

I have a New 700 .308 and I have a few questions about rails.

-what advantage would I have with a Flat, 20 or 40 MOA rail?
-PICATINNY vs. WEAVER
-two piece or single

I am thinking I will be buying a NF 5.5-2x56 NXS scope

1) The higher MOA rail is to help scopes with less internal MOA adjustment reach out farther and touch someone or something. (not an issue with Nightforce)

2) Picatinny (my preference)

3) I normally use a rail (1 piece) with the MOA built in.

4) Nightforce... very good choice. However, I prefer the 50MM objective to the 56MM. I can't seem to get the scope low enough, even with the 50MM. I do like the 5.5-22 power though.
