i am wanting to put together a precision ar. Anyone use Rainer arms ultra match barrels? I'm looking into getting the 24in for max velocity for targets down range. Good groups, consistent etc..... Thanks guys

Other than being a little heavy and they don't offer hand matched bolts, they are quality barrels. I have used multiple of them in builds and they have all been shooters. Easily sub MOA with quality ammo and shooter.

I just received a Rainer 20" Ultramatch two days ago to replace the sub standard WOA barrel I've been very disappointed with. I'm putting it together tomorrow with a SRS adjustable gas block. I have some 73 ELDM's to run through it. The WOA did not like the 73 ELDM's.

I'll post up some results when I'm able to get it out.

I've had two and they both shot great.

JMHO but get the 18" rifle gas, no longer than that and no heavier than an hbar .750 gas block profile. I would only do a 20+ inch heavy barreled 223 if it were an F class bolt gun for say 300 or 600.

I just got done testing the 18" Ultramatch SPR and 20" Ultramatch. Both shot tiny little groups and loved 73 ELDM but the 20" was significantly faster. With the same 73 eldm load in both. I sold the 18" and the buyer is very happy with it.

I read your post on the testing, good post with a lot of good information. I'm getting good accuracy out of the 73 eld's but my SD's were higher than I like barely breaking under 10 for 5 rounds. Got some more work to do with them but they're showing really good accuracy in the high 3's to low 4's. The bergers are just as accurate but with lower SD's, they just cost to damn much

I saw that too. Just wish they offered a 6mm AR / 243 LBC!

The Ultramatch barrels I've used have been a little heavy, but otherwise excellent. Would definitely buy another.

Which ones were heavy? You can get the 18" in SPR or Varmint, you can get the 20" in SDM, fluted or Varmint. I dont find them any heavier than my same contour WOA's...

Yeah, I saw that ^^^^^^^^^, I ordered a super match a few days ago and paid full price . I shot off an e mail to Rainier. They credited me the sale price for store credit ($134.00). A big thank you to Rainier. I will be a repeat customer.

Just got back from re-barreling my WOA upper with the Rainier super match. I'll tell you the proprietary barrel nut that WOA uses on their uppers is really fucked up. Needs a special tool to remove it. Took quite a while to remove it and broke a pin off of a tool. Had to use a universal U joint type tool and a lot of heat to get it off.

Looking forward to putting the Rainier through load development.

Any one used criterion ar barrels? Right now Fulton armory has them in. I know they are hammers in a bolt gun.

my criterion 20 inch barrel in my ar is moa all day with 77gr pulls and tac from a powder dispenser. when i test with each charge weighed its sub moa all day. my buddies love shooting it suppressed at 800 ringing steel all day.

they can hit the broad side of a barn with their stock no name rifles at that distance.
