I know this topic has been beat to death, but I cannot seem to verify a detail regarding the Leica CRF 2800.com. I've read that the unit will not provide ballistic date past 800 yards. However, it seems to also indicate that the unit will provide ballistic data out as far as it can range when paired with the Kestrel 5700. Does anyone here have one that can indeed verify this is a fact. How far can the 2800.com range in ideal conditions?
I'm looking at the Sig Sauer Kilo 2400, or the Leica 2800, I am leaning toward the 2800 due to the onboard compass. I also hear the 2800 has had connection issues with the Kestrel. Also looked at the Sig Sauer 3000 binos, but I had a very good pair of Leopold that also had mildots for ranging ( old fashioned and like the manual back up).
Before anyone ask, I am using these tools for tactical / long ranger target shooting, not hunting.
Any insight would be appreciated... thanks!
