The week of April 14th I'm visiting my daughter's family in Austin. Being from N. IL I'm not sure what's available down there. I shoot mostly in the MOST series in Missouri. I'd like to spend one day on the range with her boys and husband.
Anyone know of a range out to 600 or so with steel?
I've got steel I could bring, but would rather not, if I can find a range already setup like I shoot at Vapor Trail

Unfortunately Best of West LR is currently shutdown due to litigation with a neighboring land owner.

I go to a private club in Lampasas myself (not too terribly far from you @buffalowinter). I haven't been to public range in so long I don't even know what's popped up around. This site may help locate something in the surrounding area: http://www.texasgunrange.com

Thanks for following up on that!
I’ll check it out.

The litigation that Millard (owner of Best of the West) has to go through is total BS.

From what I have heard, a neighboring developer found bullets on their land adjacent to the 1K range. Thing is, said bullets don't appear to have any rifling on them and they aren't that weathered. The lack of rifling alone is a big fat WTF. Like the developer ordered a box of ELD's and just threw them out there for a week then said "oh no, look at all of these fresh bullets laying around".

Still, even with that it has to go through all of the typical crap before it's thrown out. I hope he can counter-sue for damages after it's all said and done.

Another symptom of the Californian infestation in that area. When I left I sold my house to them... I literally had no other choice.
