Hey all,

I have been searching the web, but haven't been able to find any info, so I wanted to post here to see if anyone can help.

Does anyone know a formula for turning bullet drop into turret adjustment for .10 mil?

I have only been able to find info for .25 moa.

any info is greatly appreciated!!

Re: Range into mil adjustments formula?

Sure assume a 100 yds zero and lets say your bullet drop @ 400 yds is 28.6".

Divide 28.6 by 4 = 7.15

Now divide 7.15 by 3.6 = 1.986 or 2.0 Mils rounding to the nearest 0.10 Mils

Let's check another figure:

Drop @ 1000 yds = 322.2"

Divide 322.2 by 10 = 32.22

32.22 divided by 3.6 = 8.95 Mils or 9.0 Mils rounding to the nearest 0.10 Mils

Bob,

THANK YOU!!!!

Do you know one for wind adjustment for .10mils?

Again, thank you. I have been searching for awhile.

Re: Range into mil adjustments formula?

Thumb,

It would be the same computation:

Let's say the Wind drift in a 10 mph breeze @ 1000 yds is 73"

73/10= 7.3

7.3/3.6 = 2.027 Mils or 2.0 Mils

Unless you are converting your MOA Dope to Mils then you have to use 3.43 for that conversion. So if you already have dope for a rifle and you switch to a mil based scope, then take that dope and divide by 3.43

Re: Range into mil adjustments formula?

With 1 mil being 3.6" at 100, is this info correct?
yards/ 1mil= inches
100 3.6
200 7.2
300 10.8
400 14.4
500 18
600 21.6
700 25.2
800 28.8
900 32.4
1000 36

Re: Range into mil adjustments formula?

I like my MOA/MOA setup. Less head math.

Also... MOA is a finer adjustment at 1000 yards:

.25 MOA = 2.62 inches

.10 MIL = 3.6 inches

I was under the impression that with .10, there are 10 units of measure to reach 1 mil, with .25 MOA, there are 4?

and that .10 does not equal = 3.6, it would be 1.0 equaling 3.6 at 100?

If I have this incorrect, let me know. Though, the above is my current understanding.

I personally find the mil/mil easier.

1x/100 is equal to 10x/1000 x=.1 mils so 1.0mils =3.6" at 100 yards AND .1mils = 3.6" at 1000 yards
