First off, I don't own a suppressor. Too expensive...
That said, I've been trying "other ammo" in my Savage mk II for accuracy, and you never know whats gonna shoot GREAT. This time around, I tried the CCI quiet and the Gemtech "suppressor special" ammo. Guns were a Ruger Mk II, Savage Mk II, and GSG 1911.
The gemtech stuff was just like any other subsonic. Cycled the auto pistols well, was as accurate as I needed it to be. In the rifle, it grouped pretty good at 50 yards, but not as good as my rifle does with the various 38 grain subsonic hp loads.
The CCI quiet was just that - quiet. In the pistols, it was comparable in noise to the Aguila colibris. But, it was more powerful - heavier bullet and enough oomph to get the pistols to cycle the action somewhat - the colibris dont even make the slides move. In the GSG, it was able to stove pipe every single time, but not cycle enough to properly eject, recock the hammer, and pick up a new round. Good to keep some around to slip in to practice fail drills, just mix it into the mag. In the Ruger it would cycle enough to recock the trigger, but not enough to actually start ejecting the empty.
In the Rifle, the CCI Quiet was just that - heard the slap of the firing pin on the primer, then a PFFT. Loud airgun level of noise. Shot about 8" lower than my normal 38grn sshp loads shoot, and gave enough accuracy to hit small pieces of skeet clays on the berm.
